The recently released Henley Passport Index is the most reliable ranking of the world’s passports. It measures the passport of every country in the world according to the number of destinations their holders can access without a prior visa. The Information for the ranking is based on the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the largest and most precise database of travel information.

On this year’s Henley Passport Index, only two African countries feature in the top 50, Seychelles and Mauritius, respectively 1st and 2nd in Africa. Mauritius offers visa-free access to 146 countries and is followed by South Africa. Seychelles grants visa-free access to 152 countries.
